Engineering, Drafting and Design 9     MADD-09

Students will be introduced to a variety of engineering fields, and investigating basic principles within those fields. This course introduces students to the concepts of design and visual communication by developing skills in sketching, technical pencil drawing, and computer 2D/ 3D modelling using AutoCAD and Fusion 360 software. Students will create 3D Models like a dream bedroom or a games room in your home. Once the solution has been realized, a prototype will be built and tested. Everything must have a plan before it is built, so this course provides the basis to communicate in a lot of different industries and careers. Students will learn how to use a variety of materials and equipment to produce the prototype projects. Projects may include the Great Earthquake challenge, a basketball game and a famous Styrofoam airplane that will fly around the room!
